PI lead screening checklist (intake-ready)
If your screening is vague, your billing will be vague. Use this to align qualifiers, disqualifiers, and billable rules before you scale.
1) Route only what you can answer
Before you buy volume, lock in your intake windows, seat count, and a starting daily cap. Most performance problems are actually answer-rate problems.
Windows
Run transfers when your best intake staff are on. Consistency beats “wide hours.”
Caps
Start low, then ramp weekly after you validate answer rate and signed rate.
Pause rules
If seats are full, pause routing instead of forcing overflow and disputes.
2) Core questions (most PI programs)
- Accident/injury state (target market?)
- Timeframe window (ex: last 6–24 months, based on your criteria)
- Case type (MVA, truck/commercial, slip & fall, etc.)
- Injury (confirmed) + treatment status/intent (when available)
- Representation status (not already represented, if required)
- Basic liability/fault indicators (when supported)
3) Common disqualifiers (define in writing)
Every firm’s appetite is different. Put these into your program definition so there’s no ambiguity later:
- Out-of-state incidents
- Outside your timeframe window
- Already represented or already settled
- Non-injury or no treatment intent (if required)
- Wrong case type (ex: property damage only)
4) Billable definition + buffer time
Define what counts as billable before launch. If you want fewer quick disconnects, add a connected-call buffer time (often 30–120 seconds).
5) PI-specific add-ons (by request)
Case type focus
Auto, truck/commercial, slip & fall, dog bite, workplace injury, wrongful death, and medical malpractice programs (inventory varies).
Market targeting
State routing and (where available) metro targeting to match your intake footprint.
QA artifacts
When supported: consent documentation and call recordings (jurisdiction dependent).
We don’t provide legal advice. Your firm should confirm compliance requirements for your state(s) and preferred scripts/disclosures.
Get PI inventory matched to your intake
Share your states, hours, and cap. We’ll confirm what inventory exists and what fields are available for screening.
